Our white and yellow corn masa flours can be customized by color, granulation, or with special gums or enzymes to help you achieve a desired taste and texture, shelf life, or label attribute.
Also in our El Maizal™ line, we’ve recently developed a shortening with phytosterols especially for tortillas. Bunge’s El Maizal™ shortening increases tortilla rollability (delaying retrogradation) and delivers 18% longer shelf life for structure, moistness, and quality than a traditional shortening. Our El Maizal™ shortening also has less saturated fat than traditional shortenings and is free of trans fats and PHOs. In addition, we have many other shortenings and frying oils for food brands, including traditional oils, high-oleic oils, and expeller-pressed oils.
